IKT invites applications for two positions on its board. This opportunity is open to individuals who are passionate about curatorial work and community development.

Who We’re Looking For
IKT seeks candidates from diverse backgrounds, especially those from historically marginalized communities or underrepresented regions. We value inclusivity and do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, gender expression and identity, age, national origin, or disability.
Desired Skills and Expertise
IKT is focusing on financial sustainability and enhancing services for curators. We are looking for candidates with expertise in the following areas:
- Advancement/Development and Fundraising: Candidates passionate about building partnerships and strategic fundraising to support IKT’s mission.
- Financial Sustainability and Business Development: Candidates with financial expertise to ensure IKT’s long-term sustainability.
- Marketing, Communications, and Community Engagement: Candidates skilled in marketing and community engagement to strengthen IKT’s presence.
- Expanding to Underrepresented Regions: Candidates who can help IKT reach curators in underrepresented regions globally.
Expectations for Board Members
Board members play a key role in governance and operational activities. They are expected to:
- Demonstrate leadership in advancing IKT’s strategic priorities.
- Serve as advocates and ambassadors for IKT.
- Actively participate in quarterly board meetings and discussions.
- Engage in fundraising efforts.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the annual Congress.
- Attend the annual Congress in person.
Board members commit approximately 5 hours per month to IKT-related duties and attend quarterly meetings. Attendance at the annual congress in April is mandatory, with travel stipends available for self-funded members.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be a member of IKT for at least two years.
- Maintain an active membership status with a complete payment record.
- Have attended at least one annual Congress in the past three years.
Nomination and Appointment Process
Interested candidates should:
- Complete and submit the application form.
- Send a CV and a 2-minute video presentation to ikt.curatorial@gmail.com.
Applications must be submitted by June 30, 2024, at 11:59pm GMT. Recommendations for suitable candidates are also encouraged.
Next Steps
Applications will be reviewed to ensure eligibility. Eligible candidates’ profiles will be shared with IKT members. Voting will take place online in the first week of July 2024. Notifications will be sent by July 15, and newly elected members will start on August 1, 2024, serving until April 2027.
