Overview

M+ offers internships to graduates and emerging professionals with intakes twice a year. The year-long internship is full-time and paid. Creative and driven individuals who are interested in working in a collaborative environment where their voices and decisions will make a lasting impact are sought.

Interns are mentored by key museum staff from teams across M+, including Curatorial, Digital, Learning and Interpretation, Collection and Exhibition, and Museum Operations. In addition to gaining valuable insight into museum work, interns have the opportunity to grow their professional network by attending meetings, workshops, and off-site visits.

For those looking to pursue a career in museums or the cultural field, or those wanting to learn more about twentieth- and twenty-first-century visual culture, this internship is ideal.

The M+ Internship is supported by The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Hong Kong.

About the Internship

Interns are placed in various teams across the museum to work alongside some of the world’s leading museum professionals. Under the guidance of a mentor, interns gain experience in developing museum exhibitions and programmes. They also assist with the research and care of the M+ Collections. The professional and theoretical training is designed to develop individual strengths and interests while exposing interns to the wide-ranging operations within the museum.

Since 2012, the M+ Internship has supported the growth of the next generation of cultural practitioners. Former interns have gone on to find success in the cultural field as curators, archivists, educators, and beyond.

How to Apply

The next internship intake is from August 2024 to August 2025. Currently, three departments at M+ offer internship intakes. The available roles for interns with each sub-team may vary each year.

Applications are on a rolling basis, and positions will remain posted until filled. Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted directly regarding their application status.
