Overview The Curator-in-Residence programme in Prostor is a 5-week residency for international curators, focusing on emerging and mid-career professionals.
Programme Objectives The aim is to internationalize the local art scene by introducing different and innovative perspectives. The residency is part of the “Deviations” programme, inviting curators to explore the theme of departure from established directions and the relationship between the center and periphery.
Programme Details The selected curator will spend 5 weeks in Split, engaging in research and building connections with the local community and art scene. Activities include networking sessions, studio visits, public events, and the opportunity to organize an exhibition.

Residency Dates August 12th – September 16th, 2024
Opportunities During the 5 weeks, the curator will learn about the local historical and cultural context and the local art scene. Support for research will be provided through study visits, meetings with local stakeholders, and community interactions. The curator will present their practice in a public presentation/open lecture. The residency will culminate in an exhibition, with the curator inviting up to 5 local or international artists to produce new or existing artworks.
