Arts Residency

The L’AiR Arts Residency at Atelier 11 offers a unique opportunity for artists and cultural professionals to engage with the historic artistic legacy of Cité Falguière in Paris. This space, which housed renowned artists like Modigliani, Brancusi, and Soutine, is being revitalized as a multidisciplinary platform for contemporary artistic exploration. The 2025 residency marks the 150th anniversary of Atelier 11, originally a studio for sculpture production.

Residency Overview:

• Duration: Residencies are flexible, ranging from two weeks to two months.
• Eligibility: Open to artists and cultural professionals at any career stage from all disciplines. An intermediate level of English is required, and artists must be self-sufficient in managing their residency.
• Location: Atelier 11, located in the historic district of Montparnasse, is a short distance from key cultural and artistic sites connected to the legacy of the École de Paris.

Program Mission:

The residency at Atelier 11 focuses on intercultural exchange, research, and professional development. Participants are encouraged to engage in solo or group projects while being part of a larger community of artists, making use of Atelier 11’s multifunctional facilities for work, presentations, and exhibitions.

Application Process:

• Deadline: The next application deadline is October 31, 2024.
• Application Materials: Applicants must submit a CV, bio/artist statement, a letter of intent outlining their project, and a portfolio.
• Applications are reviewed by a panel of international and Paris-based arts professionals, and residents are selected based on the strength of their projects and availability of places​.
